So far, this year, seventeen states have announced tax free shopping days ahead of the 2018-2019 school year.
States colored gray offer state-specific tax-free days and rules for 2018. Mouseover the state for a quick summary or click on the state to reach that state’s tax site for further details. States colored white, as of this post, are not participating and/or have not yet announced dates for tax-free shopping for 2018.
There is no state sales tax in the following states, year-round:
- Alaska
- Delaware
- Montana
- New Hampshire
- Oregon
Clothing is exempt from state sales tax, year-round:
- Massachusetts
- Minnesota
- New Jersey
- New York
- Pennsylvania
- Rhode Island
