Today at 10am, American-apparel-staple GAP opened its doors at its new Annapolis Harbour Center location, next to sister division Old Navy. Avoiding any potential door-busting crowd, I visited at high noon to check out the newly minted shop, since the GAP family of brands are my absolute fave (and have been for years).
The store offers an abundance of lighting, including large-scale windows, perfect for selecting and examining clothes in natural light. The location is well stocked, clean and organized, with apparel and accessories for women, men, children, toddlers, babies, and even ladies’ intimates. Being petite myself, I was pleasantly surprised to find a few “Short” items in the women’s area.
The unisex dressing rooms are clean, well-lit, with large mirrors, and with plenty of space to hang your selections and set your personal belongings. There was also a bench for your shopping buddies to wait for your fashion show. At the end of the row of fitting rooms was a rather large handicap-accessible fitting room, with its own bench – and nothing obstructed its reach. Associate Lori was extremely helpful to me, locating additional sizes that I needed, so I didn’t have to leave the fitting room. I also found it nice that I was given freedom to browse without feeling “monitored” or “harassed,” as I feel in other retail stores these days – an extra bonus for me.
This location is easy to navigate, with plenty of open space to accommodate wheelchair- or stroller-dependent customers.
The GAP Brand
Long-standing GAP – it hits 50 years next year to be exact – offers a collection of clean, confident, comfortable, accessible attire, that is both classic and modern. Starting with its denim roots, the brand offers collections today that include signature pieces serving as a staple for every wardrobe.
I have personally been shopping at the GAP since the early 1990’s in Frederick, Maryland and today shop their family of brands in both Howard County & Anne Arundel County, Maryland, as well as online. All these years later, and in my early forties, mind you, I still find the brand relevant to me and my entire family. It’s particularly because GAP comes off as youthful, casual, and individualistic in its style and is down-to-earth affordable & durable for money-conscious me.
Labor Day Sale & Get Free Ship-to-Home Ordering Items In-Store
Starting today, and through the next week, GAP is offering 40% off all regularly priced items. See the fine print at gap.com.
If you cannot find an item in store in the size that you need – no fret – a retail associate will help you order the item for home delivery at no shipping charge. Money Saving Tip: If it’s geographically close to you, it’s worth going into the store just to avoid the shipping fee you may incur online. 😉
Two Thumbs Up
All-in-all, I found my experience today to be a pleasant, happy, successful one. Go get outfitted Anne Arundel County!
